Emily Bronte, (1818 - 1848), was an English novelist and poet. She was born in Yorkshire and was the third of four surviving siblings, Charlotte, Branwell, and Anne. She is known best for her world famous, and only novel, Wuthering Heights, a classic of English Literature. Publishing under the names of Currer, Ellis, and Acton Bell, Charlotte, Emily and Anne wrote powerful and passionate poetry.
