The book Weathered The Storm follows the trials and tribulations of one youths journey. The poems and journals in this book is a chronological look inside the life of a child who has grown up in the inner-city.
These poems represent a look inside one child struggles. The struggles are brought to light by the authors works in this book.
The youthful author wants the reader to realize, that even despite all of life's turmoil we all possess beauty inside our hearts.
The poems in Weathered The Storm cast a bright side to adversity. The book has a focus that not all of life's hardships need to be seen as negatives and that we can grow from our troubles.
The author Derek Chandler wants the reader to know there is also positive virtues that come from being faced with negatives.
The book Weathered The Storm challenges us to relate to all feelings of hardship, faith, hope and love. This book reminds us to stay optimistic during all of life's valuable lessons.
This book shows there is beauty that can also be found in all human anguish. The author wants the reader to know that life is just not based off the facet of beauty, but that we can also find beauty amongst the scenery of life's storms if we just focus hard enough.
The author in this book believes that we would not have life itself if we were not faced with some harsh conditions, such as sadness and grief. The author himself has grown to believe that if the interwining emotions of happiness and sadness did not meet. Then life as we know it would not exist and we would not gain insight to better understand ourselves and others.
