The Book of Szen is a compilation of stand-alone stories and observations that celebrate the power in each of us to create positive change in our lives, to be what we want to be. Essentially, it is not a "how-to" book, but a "why not" book. It's a down-to-earth collection that includes simple anecdotes and short stories that encourage us to reach our sometimes forgotten voice, a voice that yearns for a better life.I think you'll find that the Book of Szen is sensitive to life and is as easy to relate to as it is to read. The most common feedback I've received from readers over the years is that they felt that the Book was speaking to them directly about exactly what they needed to hear at the time.

The Book of Szen began as a series of short messages that appeared in our company's internal e-mail newsletter. Every week I would recap the company's activities and add some bits of news that I thought our staff would find interesting. Over time I began to add inspirational quotes and words of encouragement. This evolved into writing original light-hearted, funny or inspiring stories about situations and people that I knew.

Start anywhere you choose. Many of the stories are true, while some are fictionalized, or based on actual or imaginary events. All of them are written to make you think, smile and hopefully be inspired. They must work because it inspires me to share them with you. I hope you enjoy them!
