This volume presents the scores for Beethoven's “25 Scottische Lieder, Op. 108”; or, “25 Scottish Songs”. Composed between 1815–18, these dual English- and German-language folk songs were written for one or two voices to be accompanied by piano, cello, and violin. The songs include: “Music, Love and Wine – Musik, Liebe, und Wein”, “Sunset – Der Abend”, “Oh Sweet Were the Hours”, “O Koestliche Zeit”, “The Maid if Isla – Das Islamaegdlein”, “The Sweetest Lad Was Jamie – Der Schoenste Bub' war Henny”, “Dim, Dim is My Eye – Trueb',Trueb' ist mein Auge”, and more. Ludwig van Beethoven (1770 – 1827) was a seminal German composer. He had a significant influence on the transition from the Classical to the Romantic era of music, and to this day he is considered to be one the most celebrated and important composers of all time.
