In its theoretical starting points, the book presents the socioanthropological understanding of psychic crises phenomena in modern society—on the individual’s and larger society’s level. It studies mental health as a social and psychological phenomenon, and it exposes the psychic crises that are characteristic of modern society. In the continuation, the book’s distinguishing features include a presentation of examples from the author’s therapeutic practice, a presentation in the form of a dialogue, the analysis of the therapeutic treatment through the therapist’s internal dialogue, and the final analysis of the present case. The cases are valuable material for the understanding of the individual, his/her distress, and the search for solutions within the frame of the psychotherapeutic and psychosocial help model. The book is designed for people who suffer from psychic crises, their family members, psychosocial counselling and psychotherapy students, and also counsellors and psychotherapists—simply, to all those who want to contribute to an individual’s and the society’s mental health with knowledge and experience.
