This book will not tell you the date of Christ’s return. Matthew 24 tells us only God the Father knows that date. But Jesus did tell us to be aware of the signs of his coming. Serendipity is the chance discovery of something useful when you are not looking for it. The author was simultaneously reading Jewish history and a Commentary on Habakkuk from the Dead Sea Scrolls when he realized he was reading the same events in each study. Prophecies about things that would come to pass in the last generation had been fulfilled. Three chapters are devoted to this comparison. Another chapter describes from scripture the nature of God. Anything claiming to be God’s word must be true and consistent with God’s nature. Finally, the book clarifies topics inadequately addressed in the Bible and describes future events not generally known which must precede Christ’s return.
