The Book of Tea is the earliest, most complete and comprehensive existing monograph on tea in the world It is known as an "e;encyclopedia on tea"e;. The author Lu Yu (733-804) who styled himself Hongjian was born in Jingling (Tianmen, Hubei nowadays) in the Tang Dynasty. He loved tea all his life and was good at tea ceremony. He was known as "e;Immortal of Tea"e;. The book of tea is divided into three volumes with ten parts in total: Part I is about the origin; Part II is about tea set; Part III is about tea production; Part IV is about tea ware; Part V is about tea making; Part VI is about tea drinking; Part VII is about tea affairs; Part VIII is about places of production; Part IX is about the outline of tea ceremony; Part X is the pictures. It is a comprehensive treatise on the history, origin, current situation and production technology of tea production, tea drinking skills, as well as principles of tea ceremony. Subsequent tea books are all based on it. The Book of Tea (Continued) was compiled by Lu Tingcan in the Qing Dynasty according to the style of The Book of Tea. It is also divided into three volumes with 10 parts in total. The table of contents of The Book of Tea (Continued) is the same as that of The Book of Tea. The Book of Tea (Continued) is also attached with a volume of tea method. The period from the Tang Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty is hundreds of years during which great changes have taken place in the place where tea is produced, the method of making tea and the utensils to make tea.
