Focusing on the several large corruption cases in the Qing Dynasty, the book reveals the ups and downs and internal political malpractices of the last dynasty in China's feudal society in the history of more than 200 years. A series of corruption cases are shocking, including Confucians Exposure, Harassment Post, Jinxiang Imposture, Ministry of War Lost Seal, Huang Yulin Case, and Dongxiang Case. The various disadvantages brought by corruption to the society are vividly displayed in this book, including embezzlement and misappropriation, bribery, bending the law for personal gain, raising money by selling official titles, benefit transfer, favoritism, dereliction of duty, and performing one's duty in a perfunctory manner. This book summarizes ten anti-corruption cases in the middle and late Qing Dynasty, records and considers the eternal struggle between corruption and anti-corruption, reflects the inevitable institutional defects of feudal dynasty, and draws lessons from them.
