The first car turned off the road into the main entrance and proceeded up the drive before it slowed to a stop at the security gate. As the motion of the car slowed the passenger in the lead car lowered his window and flashed his ID to the guard who instantly snapped to attention. ‘These cars are with me,’ sternly declared the Major General as he didn’t want their names recorded in the visitor’s log. The guard was about to say he require their identification until he saw the icy expression on the General’s face which told him he should change his mind. ‘Yes sir!’ yelled the guard as he saluted before waving the cars through as they passed he continued to watch until they were lost behind the main building then he waited to see if they reappeared from behind the office block. Eventually he saw the cars reappear then continue towards the distant trees.
