The book, broadly, covers the experiences of Decentralisation in South Asia in general and India in specific. Another important element of the book is that it has focused on two types of areas, one is All India perspective and another one is emerging experiences from different states of India. The states includes Andhra Pradesh Assam, Kerala, Maharashtra, Odisha, Telangana, Uttarakand and West Bengal. The volume also deals with Policy perspective of the Indian state, the emerging issues such as devolution of funds functions and functionary's, community participation planning, natural resource management, centrally sponsored schemes, parallel institutions and need to strengthen these institutions for inclusive governance.
