The present compilation represents the development of poultry in our country in an inclusive manner. Our nation has transformed from backyard poultry production in free range areas to an ever-big industry with environmentally controlled houses. It contributes significantly to national GDP (0.77%) and has definite impact on Indians livelihood with poverty alleviation and food security potentials. Despite poultry industry tremendous achievements, basic concepts reflecting the current status, progress and various factors involved in its upliftment are lacking and this book targets to seal this knowledge gap. This Glimpse is an author's sincere attempt to make all the poultry graduates, budding poultry professionals, practitioners and teachers to realize the developments of Indian poultry sector and its contribution to our Indian economy. Understanding the importance and on-going developmental status will make us to decide our targets in the line of further development and tackling emerging issues in the country.
