THE GOOD MEPHITE
LIVING AND LOVING THE ANSANTO VALLEY
The book’s publication was conceived and consolidated in just two years in several versions —paper and various digital versions— thanks to an idea that we could consider of another era, that of giving prestige to an ancient myth related to an ancient valley, which was a historic place, crossroads of migration movements of Italics populations with all their rites and beliefs. This is an area that has been attracting increasing attention in recent years, also on an international level, thanks to the interest and studies of a group of willing people, experts in various fields and disciplines ranging from archaeology to botany and geology, from history to artistic and architectural criticism, from publishing to digital photographic illustration, from event organisation to art. The book, with its innovative structure and new contents, is beautifully illustrated and covers all this and more, but one has to turn over the pages carefully, calmly, discovering and understanding the secrets and numerous details, the observations and information contained therein based on in-depth and passionate studies carried out by theirs authors and experts.
This is a book that does not leave one indifferent, but rather fascinates, captures one’s attention, arouses one’s curiosity, and above all does not let one forget it. It is an essay that somehow originates a new phenomenon, almost an artistic movement dedicated to the history and ancient events of the Ansanto Valley, in the province of Avellino, in the Upper Irpinia.

Prof. Arch. Ermanno Di Sandro, writer and art critic.
