Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. The compilers would have rejoiced to have made the work still more complete, by a more perfect description of their venerated and worthy ancestors, and by fuller details of all the families. They are aware that there are some whose names they have not been able to obtain. Next to Massachusetts, the largest number are to be found in Maine; but they are scattered into nearly every State of the Union. It is hoped, however, that they have given such information as may enable those whose genealogy is not given in full to trace back their lineage to their ancestors.
