Hearing firsthand accounts with people, I began to see a relationship between a kind of unexplained insight into the experiences of others and the previously hidden, unseen effects of my own life story. Like the early morning sunrise after agonizingly long, cold, and dark wintry days, I began to warm to the idea that the chaos and cruelty that scars our lives is not the beginning nor the end of the story for any of us.
