A beam of twisted light is about to return to Earth after being in space for fifty years. The light beam is encoded with data the government wants to keep secret. Fifty years earlier, the astrophysicists who encoded the light beam and sent it into space were killed. Recently, the scientists who planned on capturing the light beam on its return to Earth have died in unexplained accidents.
Brianna, a twenty-one-year-old graduate, learns on the day of her parent's funeral that she will need to take her father's place and capture the light beam and recover the data. Brianna is unprepared, but she must overcome her grief and her fears to complete the task. A small group will help Brianna, but all of them are at risk of being discovered, so they must learn how to hide and how to run.
