Concerned, Mac's brother, Tom, begs him to get out of the limelight and get himself together - out at his isolated cabin on the shores of a remote Scottish loch.

Tom tells Mac that the cabin will play with his mind, and that some false realities will certainly appear more than real, but Mac knows the mind, right? The 'mind guy' can't go insane, it's impossible, isn't it? So why does Mac feel something sinister is sharing the cabin with him?
Meanwhile, down in London, Tom is having a nightmare of his own. A decision he made two years ago at the cabin is coming back to haunt him. Not only will the truth devastate Mac, but the repercussions are now placing both brothers in the centre of a revenge pact intended to tear their lives apart.
With winter setting in, and the cabin cut off, Mac descends into a claustrophobic darkness. For the cabin isn't safe, and Mac isn't alone out here in the wilderness. Out here he is being hunted. Out here he has no choice but to face the monsters if he has any chance of saving not only his sanity, but his very existence.
