Indian writers with artistic skill wove many interesting things into the fabric of their creative writings. The telling of the tale is interesting, and emits a unique aroma that captured the readers of all sections in India and abroad. The fictional world of the Indian Writers in English reflects contemporary life, present problems and changing human values The new nations in the making, the old traditions crumbling and the brave new world that rose out of the computerised world is preserved in the creative writings. The writings of Indian Fiction in English is a museum where every book has its own importance because it captured 'the change in time.' Any casual reading of a short story or a novel will not only make us think about the conditions prevalent in the society but also makes us evaluate our own contribution to the mankind. We wish that our critics analyses will rouse fresh interest in the young readers and they in turn will review the creative writings of Indians. Our scholars and critics with their keen insight and critical perspectives brought out the issues that are discussed plainly and also the hidden issues suggested in the works of writers like Kamala Markandeya , Rohinton Mistry, Bharathi Mukherjee, Bhavani Bhattachrya, Shobha De, Shashi Deshpande, Githa Hari Haran, Gita Mehta, Kamala Markandeya , P. Raja, Nayanatara Sahgal, Manju Kapoor, Jhumpa Lahari and Bama. Many scholars and critics instantly responded to our call for papers on Indian Fiction in English and contributed their critical musings to our anthology.
