She thought back to the dinner she had the previous night, then wondered why she had been there since he had done all the talking. Slowly a growing smile appeared on her face when she thought about becoming a fully-fledged spy and, how this would ensure her future in Australia. Now her first test was rapidly approaching, so she could take her place. At least for a few weeks and after that she knew him would be putty in her hands. He came out of his office distracting her from her dark thoughts then she noticed he was carrying his coffee cup and was obviously going to the kitchen. She had told her earlier he liked making his own coffee just to give himself a break, a chance to clear his head. After seeing the opportunity to talk to him she grabbed her teacup and followed him into the kitchen only to find him scowling as he vigorously stirred his coffee. He jerked his head up startled by her concerned words. A kindness he had not experienced for some time. He saw she was the new girl in the office and by far the prettiest and smiled at her before replying. ‘These are difficult times for finance people and sometimes the stress, well it’s difficult.’
