He felt vindicated; at last that business would finally come under his control, right where it should have been all along. With a smug expression on his face, he put the cell phone he’d just used in the bag and pulled another new one from a box next to it. This was just one more way that they were forced to operate these days, that way it kept the cops from taping into their conversations. Sometimes he went through three or four phones a day. Then, about once a week, the discarded ones were reprogrammed with the next wireless service numbers and they’d go right back into the unused box. That was sure a great business to be in, the cell phone companies were raking it in, everyone had one of those things stuck to their ears. Maybe he should have some of his people look into that business as well.
