Beschreibung

This Study Guide, with added suggested answers to 445 questions, was produced to highlight this basic truth as it is

presented throughout that 400+ page book, "Dr. Martin Luther 1483-1546." In addition to reading this book, it is very

beneficial to have it read and discussed in groups, small or large. Such group discussions may be done as suggested

with the Study Guide in order to better understand God's Word as it is applied, and God's use of history.

The 400+ page book demonstrates how our God blessed, guided and protected a

group of professors in Wittenberg, Germany, for the purpose of reformation. Those

professors were blessed to produce a contemporary, reliable translation of the Bible

under the leadership of Dr. Martin Luther over a period of approximately twenty

years. There are certain central ideas woven into the contents of the book which can be

better recognized and appreciated through the use of this Study Guide. These ideas

are summarized as follows:

First: God, not man, brought about a number of church reformation movements throughout history, beginning with the one in the Garden of Eden. After a number of other such reformation movements God also provided the Lutheran Reformation

of the 16th Century.

Second: Reliable and faithful translation of His Holy Word into common language was, and still is, of highest importance for all people to read and to hear.

Third: God still wants all people to receive eternal life. His Word informs us with simple and precise terms that this can only happen by God's grace through faith in Jesus Christ, as revealed in God's Word.

Our Savior himself launched the central reformation movement in world history.

This reformation began nearly 2000 years ago as St. Mark was inspired to write,

quoting Jesus himself, "The time has come. ... The kingdom of

God is near. Repent and believe the good news." (Mark 1:15) To

be genuine, the Lutheran Reformation, as well as all other church

reformation movements in history, had to remain focused on our

Savior's central reformation.
